Dr. Lisa Fortier, large animal surgeon, professor, and researcher in regenerative medicine and cartilage repair, needed to show the development of cartilage healing over time after a microfracture of the bone has been repaired. We developed a series of three didactic color histological illustrations for Dr. Fortier, showing the Stage 1: Superclot, Stage 2: Hypercellular (Neocartilage), and Stage 3: Later cartilage repair with increased density of proteoglycans.
